Music of Resilience: Ukrainian Voices and Beyond

Music at the Institute (MATI) presents Music of Resilience: Ukrainian Voices and Beyond, a special concert celebrating the release of the new NAXOS album Music of Resilience. Violinist Solomiya Ivakhiv is joined by conductor Shou-Ping Liu, the New England Chamber Orchestra, and soprano Andrea Nalywajko for a program that brings the album to the concert stage and highlights Ukrainian musical voices alongside works by Mendelssohn and Mahler. The evening features compositions by Yuriy Shevchenko, Bohdana Frolyak, Felix Mendelssohn, Ihor Sonevytsky, Gustav Mahler, and Dale Wilson, including three world premieres.

The MATI program is a ticketed event and advance registration is requested. A light reception will follow the concert.

An Evening of Music for Flute and Guitar #2

to be determined brings together classical works rooted in folk traditions, drawing on dances and musical languages from different regions of the world. Through this repertoire, the duo explores a shared human impulse toward rhythm, storytelling, and cultural memory.

The evening will also feature the world premiere of "to be determined", a new work by composer P. Brent Register, written especially for this duo and performed here for the first time.
